Rail: If you love travelling by train then you can use the train service till Kotdwar, the nearest railhead to Lansdowne. Kotdwar is connected to Delhi by Garhwal Express and Mussoorie Express trains. From Kotdwar, you can take a drive to Lansdowne which is 40 km.
Air: The nearest airport to Lansdowne is Jolly Grant Dehradun Airport, which is about 150 km.

For the admirers of landscapes, Lansdowne is loaded with natural beauty. To start with your first day in the hill town, you can visit Tip n Top, a beautiful destination nurtured by mountains. From here, snowy peaks and panoramic views can be seen.
From Lansdowne, one can also witness the far-flung mountains and many small villages. The view of the rising sun from behind them looks fantastic. If the weather is clear, you can see a range of snow-capped mountains.
Get a glimpse of St. Mary's Church which is over 100 years old. The Bhulla Tal here is also quite famous. It is a small lake where you can also enjoy boating with your family and friends.
In the evening, one can visit the Santoshi Mata temple to see the beautiful view of the sunset. It is built on the high hill of Lansdowne. By the way, there is also Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple which is around 40 kilometers from here. This is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. It is also considered a Siddhapeeth. Situated at an altitude of 2092 meters above sea level, Tarkeshwar temple is surrounded by palm and deodar trees. This entire area is beautiful as well as quiet. Tourists can also enjoy adventure activities like trekking, biking, cycling here.
Among other places, do not forget to visit the Bhima Pakora in Lansdowne. This exciting place is located on Dhura Road on the outskirts of the city. Actually, this place is known for a stone that is placed on a rocky slope here. It is so strong that no one can move it, no matter you do anything, the rock remains unmoved.
